🌟 Welcome to 31 Days of Living Well
A month of affirmations, intentions & reflections for people with aphasia, apraxia, and dysarthria
The start of a new year often brings resolutions, pressure, and long lists of things we “should” do. But when you’re living with aphasia, apraxia, or dysarthria—when your life and communication have changed—January can feel different. Uncertain. Emotional.
I know, because I’ve been there. What’s the next year going to hold? How much will I recover?
After my stroke, I needed more than goals. Don’t get me wrong - setting goals is an important part of recovery? An important guide for speech therapy. But I also needed gentleness, encouragement, and a path forward that honored where I actually was.
And that’s why I’ve created this new 31-day series: a companion to my original 31 Tips for Thriving with Aphasia.
For each of the next 31 days, I’ll share:✨ An affirmation to support your mindset 🌱 An intention to guide your day 💭 A reflection to help you feel grounded and understood.
This is not about perfection. It’s about living well—one small moment, one breath, one hopeful step at a time.
🌿 Today’s Focus: Beginning With Hope
✨ Affirmation:Today, I welcome the year with hope, compassion, and courage.
🌱 Intention:I will set a gentle tone for this year by honoring what I need—rest, calm, support, or connection.
💭 Reflection: Beginning again can feel overwhelming, especially when communication is hard. But beginnings are also places of possibility. Today, give yourself permission to start small. Whisper your intentions. Write them. Think them. Feel them. This is your year, your pace, your life—and you deserve a beginning that feels kind and true.

Thank you for your inspiring message - especially with specific challenges - that I know will reach so many people and hopefully let them know that they are not alone. Looking forward to reading more.
