One of the benefits of participating in the Ultimate Blog Challenge is that we get daily emails with tips for making our blog better and a suggested topic if we need one. Today‘s suggestion was to share a story.
It was so weird when I opened the email and saw this. I was already going to use my free write to draft a story that I started last night in my monthly Public Speaking and Learning Community with Dr. Brielle Stark, from the Indiana University, and Deb Stark, her mother who is a Toastmaster coach.
We worked on openers for an imaginary speech. Here is what came up with.
Imagine living in a place in which prostitution takes place.
That’s exactly what I did in 1982.

Cheryl, what? I'm with Martha-- how did you write all that in 15 minutes? Now from my professional self: didn't you feel lighter, looser, and younger after doing that free writing? What a great exercise.
You wrote all that in 15 minutes? It would take me that long to think of a topic if I had to write something.
