The prompt for the Ultimate Blog Challenge is a good for me today. Paul said ”let’s start Monday nice and easy. Share your favorite photos from your niche or personal photos from your latest traveling adventure”
Of course my latest adventure is traveling down to see my daughter’s family (my granddaughter mostly, lol). We woke up at 4:30 am on Sunday and began the last minute prep and packing of the car.
We have this down to a science. It now takes us 45 minutes and then we’re on the road. We have been traveling back and forth from RI to Richmond, VA as often as we can. Kiera is now 2 years old so we’ve been doing this for 2 years. of course we visited my daughter and son in law often throughout the years they been together, but since Covid the journey has been one sided and frequent because we have our first grandchild.
This week’s journey is a bit different from the others. my husband and I traveled specifically to travel back with them to RI. So we’ll only be here for 5 days and then we will caravan back with them On Saturday. The whole gang is me, my husband, daughter, son in law, the granddaughter and the two dogs (my 60 pound black lab and their 50 pound lab mix). The trip takes anywhere from 10 to 12 hours. God be with us!
The 5 days will include one day of “rest” for me - today. The rest included two walks, unpacking and grocery shopping. The walk to the management office to get some information about our new lease and a 1 mile-walk to and around the shopping plaza Gave me a chance to take some photos of the place we call home when we’re here in VA. The location is perfect for us. Ten minute ride to the family‘s house, ten minutes to daycare, everything you can possibly imagine on the Main Street, a nice wooded complex and a small shopping mall in walking distance.
Here are some pictures of today’s walk…
